Over the weekend I had two goals – to see the new Spiderverse movie with my kid and visit one of two car shows: the American House Car Show on Water Street or the Keene Craft Fair & Car Show, at the Middle School. Thankfully I managed to make it a success by getting to all three shows, despite the rain calling off the Craft Fair.
The day started by rolling into the American House where I was greeted by the sight of around 20 different cars. I quickly pulled out my camera and started taking pictures of these beauties, while my kid darted around trying to stay out of the shots and staring in awe.
It was a great time really; I had a chance to speak with a few of the owners and learn a little bit about their cars, and pass out a few business cards for the magazine. The highlight though, was this Hurst Olds Cutlass. Despite being in my Top 5 favorite Muscle car list, it’s a fairly rare breed AND it was in amazing condition.
After having to explain car etiquette to my son, who put his fingers on the paint job, I was downplayed by the owner’s wife, who asked him if he wanted to sit in it! Was I mad? Absolutely! He got to sit in one of my favorite cars!
Really though, it was an awesome experience for him, and I grabbed this cool photo, where he looks 100% unenthused with the whole thing.
The rest of the time was spent checking out a few other rad cars, including the Excalibur, which I hadn’t even heard of.
We then packed it up and moved down the line to the Middle School across town. Unfortunately, many of the cars had already left with the impending rain storm, but I managed to take a few shots of this cool Corvair and Hotrod.
Soon, the telltale thunderclap echoed across the sky and we booked it for the car, still getting caught in the rain, being soaked for the movie!
